Samuel Richmond M.S., CFP®
For many business owners, building a successful company is only part of the challenge. The harder question is how to turn that success into financial stability, greater freedom, and a lasting legacy for the people who matter most.
Business and personal finances often overlap. Decisions involving investments, taxes, retirement, succession, and estate planning affect one another — and what is best for the business does not always align neatly with what is best for the family.
Samuel Richmond understands that tension because he lives it himself.
As the founder of Richmond Family Wealth, an employer, and an owner and manager of additional businesses, Samuel has firsthand experience with many of the decisions his clients face: when to reinvest in the business, when to take money off the table, how to build wealth outside the company, and how to preserve what has taken years to create.
Samuel aims to serve in a personal-CFO role, helping business owners step back from the individual decisions competing for their attention and see the larger financial picture. He helps clients understand how one decision may affect another and can coordinate closely with their CPA, attorney, and other professionals so everything is aligned with your overall financial plan.
His approach centers on three priorities:
Build — Focus to create wealth beyond the business through intentional decisions about investments, cash flow, and opportunities.
Protect — Address risks that could adversely affect the business, the family, or the wealth they have accumulated.
Transition — Prepare for the day the owner chooses to sell, transfer, step away from, or pass on what they have built.
Samuel is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He earned a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning from Kansas State University and a bachelor’s degree from Covenant College. He has worked in financial services since 2009 and earned his CFP® certification in 2015. Clients value not only his technical knowledge, but also the practical judgment he brings as a fellow business owner.
His commitment to stewardship extends beyond his professional work. Samuel serves as an elder at his church and on the boards of Georgia Gwinnett College and Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett. He was also appointed to the SPLOST Citizens Project Selection Committee and serves on the foundation committee of his Rotary club.
For Samuel, building something that lasts is deeply personal. He and his wife, Melanie, have been married for more than two decades and have two sons, Samuel II and Isaiah. When Samuel was considering the name Richmond Private Wealth, his 10-year-old son, Samuel II, suggested Richmond Family Wealth instead. Isaiah, then eight, agreed that it had “a nicer ring to it.”
The name proved fitting.
Richmond Family Wealth exists to help business owners pursue something larger than a successful company: financial independence, greater freedom and choice, security for the people they love, and a legacy that can extend beyond them.
Because the ultimate goal is not simply to build a successful business. It is to build a successful life — and ensure the wealth created by the business serves the family and future it was built for.
